I've heard two versions. If you know the answer, please quote the exact source as to where it can be verified. A prominent newspaper columnist speculated that if Mike Bloomberg decides to run for preseident, he could select Arnold S. as his running mate. That would mean either the law would have to be changed or the VP is exempt from this ruling. The president of the US must be a natural born citizen. Does this hold true for the Vice President?
Here is a source. The 12th Amendment says ';no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.'; That settles it. Arnold could not be VP.

Yes you have to be an american citizen...thats why Arnold can never run.
yes, must be a natural born citizen.
While the Constitution doesn't EXPLICITLY state that, implicit in a Vice President is that he or she would Constitutionally be able to serve as President in an emergency. Arnold could not because of being born in Austria.
Yes
Yes. He/she is only a heartbeat away from being president and the president must be a natural born citizen.
YES!
The source is the U.S. Constitution.
To Greg R....YES, the Constitution is very explicit on that issue. Check the 12th Amendment.
Yes... If the president is assassinated, the Vice is next in line to that position, and ALL Presidents must be US born...
Yes, the vice president has to be a natural citizen as well because he could become President if the President dies. He's next. I believe I learned this back in American Government in high school and possibly again in college when I took Political Science (the intro course).
