the govt get to powerfullIs it true that you as a citizen are a militant and did the founding fathers ever say to take back the govt if?
George Washington said every citizen should be armed. The founding fathers have been quoted over and over as saying that tyrannical governments (even our own) should be over thrown. Of course if they were alive today they would probably be locked up.Is it true that you as a citizen are a militant and did the founding fathers ever say to take back the govt if?
as usual, a repug has got it half right.

yes, the founding fathers said we have the right to overthrow the government using force of arms.

they did not say we should do it when the government gets ';too powerful.'; we should do this if they become tyrannical or no longer follow the will of the people.

by that definition, we should have overthrown bush.
I think the purpose was for us to protect ourselves form the government, and also be a mass citizen army in case of foreign invasion.

Who would invade a country of 300 million gun owners ;D
The bear arms clause was really just the right to protect yourself, given that firearms make that a lot easier......... plus 17th century America was a place where you couldn't walk a mile unless you get mauled by a bear (or mountain lion)
';Too powerful';? or ';too Democratic';?
since a lot of people support the New Nazi regime that Obama has set up it will not be so easy to take it back.
