No.

Next time you hear some nonsense like this, try checking with Snopes.com. They just love reality checking nonsense like this.Is it true that new citizens of the USA (legal immigrants) are exempet from incom tax for 7 years?
All citizens and legal residents of the U.S.A are required to pay federal taxes.
I think this is one of those ';immigration urban tales,'; as I've heard it several times. Last I hear it was 5 years.

This is not true. A friend of my family's married and he brought his wife over. She is working and paying taxes now.

Cheers.

No it is not true. If you have earned more than $400.00 you need to file an income tax return the link below outlines who must file a return.
completely false

in fact, anyone who lives or works in the USA and has at least minimal earned or capital income is subject to income tax here no matter what their immigration status.
This is not true, the whole point and reason to give legal status is so that those immigrants can start paying taxes!
Nope not true..... We're not that desperate for more citizen =)
It seems to pop up at least once a week here on Yahoo, but it is absolutely untrue.
Never heard of it and if it were true, True Americans should be outraged.
