I seem to remember that to be President of the US, you had to be a natural citizen. Is this true? If so why?

THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION

Article. II. Section. 1.

Clause 5: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;I seem to remember that to be President of the US, you had to be a natural citizen. Is this true? If so why?
It is true. The founding fathers were concerned about what we now might call a ';sleeper agent'; of a foreign power sneaking his way into the Presidency.I seem to remember that to be President of the US, you had to be a natural citizen. Is this true? If so why?
Yes it's true. The rationale is that a natural citizen won't have any loyalties to any other country, esp. if we come into conflict with them.
Because that's what The Constitution says.
