I think I heard that there were still some particularly worthless stretches of land where such homesteading is still technically legal.Is it true that US citizens can ';stake a claim'; to certain US held lands?
The homestead act's still around. Unfortunately in a country of 3,000,000 all the good pieces tend to be all taken.
Yep. But its not an easy process. Its called ';Adverse Possession'; and its not just used for US held lands. It can be used on anyone's land.
