Is you have a US Passport, are you a US Citizen? When is this not true?

you can ONLY have a US Passport when you can prove that you are a US citizen, so once you have a passport then you ARE a US citizen :)Is you have a US Passport, are you a US Citizen? When is this not true?
Usually. If you have U.S. non-citizen national status. Section 308 INA confers U.S. nationality but not U.S. citizenship, on persons born in or having ties with ';an outlying possession of the United States.'; The outlying possessions are defined in Section 101(A)(29) INA as American Samoa and Swains Island. US nationals get US passports!

Not as dumb as I look!Is you have a US Passport, are you a US Citizen? When is this not true?
Yes. You have to provide proof of US citizenship to acquire a passport from the US, so I would say, ';Yes.';
When you're a US national, an imposter, or fraudulently acquired a US passport.
Green card holders are NOT given passports. Only USA citizens are given USA passports.
When one's identity is stolen, or they are fake IDs, or gotten with fake IDs.
Of course, if not then you are either a dual citizen or a green card holder!
