I am a green card holder married to US citizen. Is it true that I can file my naturalization in 2 1/2 year?

I recieved my citizenship last 2006 and by 2009 its 3 years already. I heard that I can file my citizenship 6 months before i complete my 3 years because they said it take 6 months before I got my citizenship. And does it matter if i file my citizenship in other state?I am a green card holder married to US citizen. Is it true that I can file my naturalization in 2 1/2 year?
Your question makes little sense.

You state that you received your citizenship in 2006 and then you say that you wish to file again, why?

If you obtained your green card via marriage to a U.S. citizens and you are still married and you are still living together then you become eligible for naturalization three years after you become a permanent resident.

Whoever told you that naturalization takes 6 months, was spreading misinformation, you are looking at around 12-18 months for the entire process.

You cannot file earlier, the earliest you can file if you obtained the green card via marriage to a U.S. citizen is the day of the your 3rd anniversary of permanent residency.I am a green card holder married to US citizen. Is it true that I can file my naturalization in 2 1/2 year?
Well, depends on how you look at it.

If you got your Green Card marrying an American citizen, you must have gotten a ';conditional green card'; which is issued for two year period.

After two years you have to go again for an interview, to prove that you're still together(the interview is the same as the first one that you had to go through to get the green card)

After a successfull interview you get a permanent residence card(with no specific time limit)and if you've been married to an American citizen for at least 3 years you can apply for citizenship.

But it is also possible to do it this way:TO SAVE PLENTY OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?br>

9 months before the end of your conditional green card you have the right to file a petition for an interview. It usually takes 6 months to hear back from UCIS,after 6 months they will set a date for your interview. It should be within 3 months.

That means that before your conditional card is ending you can get it approved for non-conditional green card. which saves you a few months.

Then 6 months before the time of 3 years of marriage you can apply for citizenship.

The last question.

It does and doesn't matter.

As far as I know there are 2 states where USIC applications ahould be sent to and one of them is the USIC in Chicago and that's where you have to go for an interview.
If you are a green card holder and got green card by marriage to US, you can file for citizenship after 2 years and 9 months.
