Is it true that every US citizen must have a passport in the near future? not just for travel, but as id?

No. Republicans wanted this, but Democrats have more important things to do.

Like stopping Republican hedge fund managers from destroying the country. Is it true that every US citizen must have a passport in the near future? not just for travel, but as id?
No not true. Passports or equivalent will be required for travel to Canada, Mexico and certain Caribbean countries from June onwards..

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.htmlIs it true that every US citizen must have a passport in the near future? not just for travel, but as id?
No, according to the constitution a US citizen does not require to carry an ID with him. Learn the constitution of your country, I never been in the US and I know it.
NO! the it was another wacky Republican plan that failed like the ';virtual fence'; and ';e-verify';. You only need them when crossing borders, when before a Driver's License was good enough.
**** THAT! Im not doin it..too much moolah

Is it true Obama lied on his college applications and said he was not a US citizen?

So that he can get a better chance of getting accepted, and for better financial aid?Is it true Obama lied on his college applications and said he was not a US citizen?
No. PERIOD.

Most lies on college apps are on financial aid applications. But those are carefully checked and if you lie you stand a VERY high chance of getting caught. When that happens, you lose ALL right to ANY financial aid.Is it true Obama lied on his college applications and said he was not a US citizen?
No. And everyone knows Obama was born in Hawaii as a US citizen.

Like i said in another answer about one of the lies about Obama--the people who keep repeating thes lies are screwing temselves.

Think about it. Their friends, schoolmates or co-workers, teachers or boss--all will know ';this person is a liar.'; No one will trust them. No one will really like them. they will be the person that others whisper about at parties or elsewhere ';Watch out for that one--he'd just as soon lie as look at you.';

And they will be right
I dnt knw but i knw 4 FACT that he is the right president I'm not just saying it becuz im black . THis is not about the color of your skin but this is about the usa and if we dnt choose the person who is will to make a change will forevea be lost the troops will never come home. I knw they would make this about race but that's not wat it shiuld be about . You have to think about the young kids in the world thay's going to take our places.
I wish it not to be true but if it was I want you to get over it. This man is going to be the President of the United States of America. We can show some respect. Its time to turn the page and live side by side with each other. We did it for bush, now you must do it for Senator Barack. Since speaking at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, Obama has had a meteoric rise. Elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, he previously served seven years as an Illinois state senator, taught law in Chicago, and was a community organizer. Please show some respect..thank you
Have you ever gone to Snopes and pulled up EVERY candidate individually and counted the FALSE email smears just to see who the bigger liars really are? Try it. You really will be amazed.
If that were the case we would have known about that. Besides he used to smoke drugs and do all kinds of criminal stuff before he grew out of it. Its all in his biography so if he did it he would have written about it in there.
No, he didn't lie, he accidentally marked the wrong box, just like he did in the 2000 election, when he accidentally marked the wrong box and ended up voting for Buchanan, instead of Gore.
It's probably not true. People will say anything to get other people to vote for who they want. If it was true, and he was caught, he'd be in jail, or at least on trial.
I didn't lie on my college apps. I bet a lot of people here didn't. It would be a big deal to me if Obama had... but since there's no proof/evidence of it, he's innocent unless proven guilty.
is it true that you repeat lies without ever bothering to see if it is true?
no, thats not true.
I dont know and dont care, Bush told us the bigest lies just look at the shape we are in.
I doubt it is true.
No.
It is when you are running for President of the US
no

I seem to remember that to be President of the US, you had to be a natural citizen. Is this true? If so why?

THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION

Article. II. Section. 1.

Clause 5: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;I seem to remember that to be President of the US, you had to be a natural citizen. Is this true? If so why?
It is true. The founding fathers were concerned about what we now might call a ';sleeper agent'; of a foreign power sneaking his way into the Presidency.I seem to remember that to be President of the US, you had to be a natural citizen. Is this true? If so why?
Yes it's true. The rationale is that a natural citizen won't have any loyalties to any other country, esp. if we come into conflict with them.
Because that's what The Constitution says.
  • tvs
  • A naturalized citizen is a citizen born in the united states? True or False?

False. A naturalize citizen is someone that was born in another country and then applied to become a US citizen.A naturalized citizen is a citizen born in the united states? True or False?
False.A naturalized citizen is a citizen born in the united states? True or False?
    false
No. It's a foreigner who comes to the States, then successfully applies for and gains U.S. citizenship.
No native born citizen is one born here.

Which lead to a fact that any native born is A Native American not just indians LOL
    False.
    False.
    False.
    no, false
    False.
False. Naturalization refers to an act whereby a person acquires a citizenship different from that person's citizenship at birth.
    False
That would be false. A Naturalized citizen is someone who was born in another country and becomes a citizen of the country they live in.
    False.

According to wikipedia: Naturalization refers to an act whereby a person acquires a citizenship different from that person's citizenship at birth.

Is it true that you can get some type of money if you give up your US citiezenship and become severd citizen?

    Why would you want to?

from what I understand it will save you from paying taxes, but moving to Florida will save you from having to pay income tax.

    Huh????

Here's the link I found. Is it true that you can get some type of money if you give up your US citiezenship and become severd citizen?
i never been another citizen, aside from my being native PINAY!proudly!and i have gone living other country but never then a citizen,of such country.

therefore,i cant tell if that could be possible or not!.

Is it true that all citizens living in the United States will be forced to have a national I.D card next year?

Or is this just another urban legend? Credible sources are always helpful. Is it true that all citizens living in the United States will be forced to have a national I.D card next year?
I think you might be referring to the REAL ID Act. The act establishes uniform standards for driver licenses, which states must meet if their residents are to be able to use those licenses as identification for federal purposes (such as getting on an airplane).

States can choose not to comply with the act.

Here's a recent news article that gives some good background on it: http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/18鈥?/a>Is it true that all citizens living in the United States will be forced to have a national I.D card next year?
Here in the U.S., we already have ';de facto'; national I.D. cards. They're known as drivers' licenses and social security cards. You can't use private transportation, open a bank account, enroll in college, or get a job without them.
vote against politicians who want this sort of thing..

what is it really for?? (hint: its not really for ID)

    what it really is for is to create a sense of parania/fear among Americans.. keep Americans so freaked out about ';terrorists'; etc.. that they will accept anything.. convince them that there is a threat and you are acting to help them and they will DO ANYTHING.. ';oh save us Uncle Sam.. Save us!';

ya pretty soon they will want you to microchip your kids too.. it isnt real people.. the only threat to you is your own government trying to scare you!!!
    How about. . .NO.
My understanding is the REAL-ID Law requires states to configure their Drivers Licenses %26amp; State ID Cards to a Federal standard %26amp; enter them into a Federal Data base. I'm nor sure of the effective date this is supposed to happen. I am also not sure if everyone is required to carry one, but it would be necessary in order to pass security in situations such as boarding a flight, for example.

Many states have passed their own resolutions stating they will not comply. If the Congress doesn't reverse the law, I hope the states prevail. A National ID system would offer no more security overall %26amp; could in fact increase the rate of ID theft.
I have heard of this, as it is already been implemented in areas of the UK. The I.D. card will likley be in conjunction with an implanted biochip and a new 'trackable scan-read' passport. Watch this interesting video from the BBC... mainly aimed at cameras and Big Brother, it speaks of the I.D. card. The credible BBC stations/websites and newspaper really give a bias, different perspective of whats going on in America and more so in Brittan.
I haven't heard of this but it could be so. I will be interested to see what answers you get.

I'm a dual citizen. I was told by an Army recuriter I'd lose my Cdn citizenship if i joined? Is this true?

I'm close to joing the USMC and my USMC recruiter is looking the info up, but hasn't gotten to me yet. Is it true I'd have to give up my CDN citizenship, which I was born with, to join the USMC?I'm a dual citizen. I was told by an Army recuriter I'd lose my Cdn citizenship if i joined? Is this true?
It does not appear that either country has a law that would force you to denounce your Canadian citizenship to join any US military service, however if you are required to hold a clearance your dual citizenship could complicate or prevent your clearance. See http://www.richw.org/dualcit/faq.html

Anyone that says the US does not allow dual citizenship is mistaken.I'm a dual citizen. I was told by an Army recuriter I'd lose my Cdn citizenship if i joined? Is this true?
It doesn't surprise me. If the U.S. and Canada ever went to war, whose side would you be on?

Frankly, I don't think anyone in the federal government should be allowed dual-citizenship. I have an itzy bitzy problem with politicians selling out our country for another country. A good example is Israel.
While Emily D is basically right (America does not recognise dual-citizenship) it no big deal to retain your current nationality if you have a Canadian (or whatever) passport. The U.S. does not ask for you former passport, so for all intents if Canada (or whatever) accepts dual U.S./Canadian citizenship you are free and clear. By the way, I have a friend who has high level clearance for both U.S. and U.K. He is a U.K citizen.
Tell the Marine Recruiter that he should not have to look that up at all-there is no requirement to be or want to be an American citizen to join the Marines. No you do not lose your dual citizenship status and if your were in the country legally and a Canadian citizen you would not lose your Canadian citizenship or have to become a dual citizen. I served in the Marines with many Canadians citizens, one West German (was a while ago), two British, one Israeli, one dual Panamanian-US dual and two South African citizens and I can think of none who became American citizens. The same is true of the other services but if you want to join go with the Marines. It might interfere with getting a high security clearance but I know two of the Canadians had Top-Secret (low level) based on jobs they had.
Yes, once you join either Military you will loose your other citizenship. But you shouldn't be worried about this because at 19 you need to choose anyways, and the one you don't choose you loose.
To hold a clearance you will. And to my knowledge, all Marines have to hold a clearance of some type.
No. You don't have to give up your Canadian citizenship. If you want to be an officer in the U.S. military you have to get U.S. citizenship. Why do you want to join the USMC? None of my business, just thought I'd ask. Canadian Forces also need good people.
As far as I understand it, you are either American or you're not. You can not hold dual citizenship in the eyes of the U.S. government. Losing your Canadian citizenship makes it offical to Canada that you are offically American and only American.
