I cant find teh answer for this since they change so much. But If you have been illegal in the US and have stayed in teh US for more than 10 years, do you automatically become a resident? The reason I ask is I've been here since I was 4, and I've gone to school, graduated, started college, worked, and everything (im 20 now) Would I automatically have any righst at all? or not...Is it true that you automatically become a citizen after 10 years?
Go to an immigration office and ask that question yourself. Pack your bags. Goodbye. Is it true that you automatically become a citizen after 10 years?
I think you need to go to the nearest CIS office, tell them your story, and ask for your citizenship papers.
No. There is no way to automatically become a citizen. You have to qualify and apply. It does not matter if you came as an infant, how many years you have been here, how hard you have worked, paid taxes, never been arrested etc. If you do not qualify for residence, you will not get it. If you came illegally, you probably do not qualify.
no.
No. You don't automatically become a citizen. There's fees and tests and background checks and all sorts of other things.
