is ineligible to apply for citizenship. I get conflicting reports from people. some say that Bush changed the law in 2004, I think, others say it's not true.Is it true that an illegal alien who is married to a citizen, born and raised in this country,?
The last time US immigration law changed was more than a decade ago.
Marriage to a US citizen does not confer any automatic immigration benefits, least of all citizenship. The US citizen must petition for the spouse; if the petition is genuine and the spouse is eligible, he or she can then apply for an immigrant visa (which confers a green card on arrival) or a green card directly if the person is legally in the US. Citizenship can follow in due course.
If it appears at any time that the marriage might have been entered into solely to ';legalize'; the alien spouse, the visa or green card will not be issued and the petitioner can be prosecuted for fraud. Is it true that an illegal alien who is married to a citizen, born and raised in this country,?
The illegal has to apply to become a legal resident first. It's a long process that could take years to complete. I've heard of people waiting more than five years and they're still illegal.
If an illegal marries a regal citizen ( Born here or not, does not matter)
The marriage certificate will be used to apply for a green card first.
second the regal citizen need to file a affidavit of support and meeting the income guide lines, and they need to be pass the interview process - meaning that you have to have a legitimate marriage not an arranged one.So don't try to fool the system.
In 3-4 Months you will get a temp working permit and temp green card and in 2 years you will get the real green card - after 5 years from that you will be eligible to apply to a US Citizenship.
Good luck. Keep it real.
yahh so annnoyin as everone thinks we are all talking about usa
that is cuz only we matter
PROUD TO BE AMERICAN
What f.......... country? I guess you mean USA. Dumb question as there are over 350 other countries in the world but for some reason people from your country do not understand this.
I suggest you buy an Atlas and then get lessons on how to use it
I thought they automatically became a citizen if they married someone who was a born and raised US citizen. I'm not positive on that, but that's what I thought.
