Is it true that there a ridiculous requirements for becoming a Canadian citizen?

A girl I was talking to last night told me that she'd like to move to Canada, but they have strict requirements. She said a bachelor's degree, clean criminal record and clear drug test are required. Also you have to have plenty of $$$ in the bank for the gov't to know ';you've got something to contribute to the country';, other than getting free health benefits.

yep. only the US lets in drug addicts, illegals, and felons. The rest of the world don't want deadbeats coming in and living off of their social programs.

If they don't have a clean criminal record and drug test, who wants them? And if they don't have any money, who do you think will end up paying for them?
Some of it is true. It's kind of a point system unless you are


You don't have to have a BA, but you get more points with one. You do need a clean record, and have to get a physical from an approved physician. I don't know if they test for drugs. Money helps, but skills count too especially if they are ones in short supply in Canada.





There are other groups, asylum seekers and those sponsored by family members who have different requirements.





Also, these are for Canadian residence, citizenship may follow after a while and that requires an examination.

i think some of them are an options so as your applications can be process and approved easily just the fact that if you have a capital to open a business that will help the economy of the country, of course they will let you have your papers right away and having a college degree or some other talent that will make you not a burden to the country but instead you can be a productive taxpayer then it will be for the better.
What makes them so ridiculous? There has to be some standards. We are witnessing what it means when there are none. Nothing but chaos and every service being strained to the point of bankruptcy from massive poverty and criminals and sheer un-manageable amounts of people.





Canada, the US and Australia are ones with the least amount of requirements. Sounds like the EU is getting up there too. Like it or not......no country is equipt to deal with ';open borders'; when the majority are comming to take.....not to contribute.
